Creativity Lesson Extension Activities and Micro Lessons

  • Become familiar with Dr. Seuss's work. Click here for a read aloud of his famous children's book, Green Eggs and Ham.
  • Add to your artwork. You can get even more creative by adding more body parts to your characters, like eyebrows or a nose or beard. Add color if you choose, or clothing.
  • Develop your characters. Character development is key in story writing. Use the micro lesson (click below)  to learn more.
  • Write a story about your characters! (Make it into a children's book!)
  • Repeat the activity with straight lines and use crayons or markers (black + primary colors) to create an art piece in the style of Piet Mondrian.

Creativity Lesson: Pause the video, as needed, to participate in your own way at home.
